Hi Peeps!

Thanks for inviting me to the beta.
I instantly could generate hair onto a character and was impressed by the editing speed for the guides! This has definately Potential! :D
Do you have a quickstart guide that helps getting the head around the system?

Should I rather take a look at Max or Maya tutorials?

Thanks!

Can

Hi Can,

Glad to hear you can see potential even with current really early version! I believe that Jeordanis is nearly finished with his intro tutorial. The video you saw earlier was a preview for it. Hopefully that will shed some more light into the current workflow.

Ah nice to hear! Can t wait to try out more!

I think what you really need to think about is that all external render engines can actually understand ornatrix as a hair based material. Most important in my opinion would be: Octane, Redshift and Arnold.
The good thing is, that all renderers have a "handshake" with the natural hair object.

As feedback, I would love to know, if its possible to "sculpt" the hair without grooming using parametric noises or painting curves on the surface of the mesh to use the tangents of the curves points as a flow or grooming direction.

Really good stuff, man!

Hi Scanned,

Yesm, while I'm finished with my tutorial is a good idea to look into Maya and Max tutorials and documentation.
