R19.068,win10,build17169 Tag(Guides from Mesh) Distribution (Uniform,Random Area,Even was tested) Guide Count (when increased to high values 700-1000, c4d become unresponding (blue wheel) - tested on simple plane object 20x20 polygons |

Did you check "Guides From Mesh" tag? Your screenshot is from "Hair from Guides" tag. Switch to first tag from the left on Furball object and change parameter Guide Count. Sometimes when only click on slider, works fine, but when drag with slider up to high count (or drag from high value to lower) c4d freeze...
Sorry, i somehow switch to another tag. i got same error in r20
I remove "Hair from Guides" tag and test with "Guides From Mesh" tag, Hair from Guides causes this issue when generate. Upd. Got crash when up to more 2000
Hi guys, I cannot reproduce this issue, I will ask someone else to try it. Jeordanis Figuereo (Product Designer. EPHERE Inc.)
Jeordanis if you use arrows or slider... mostly freeze and crash at using of arrows. if we are typing of value - no crashes or freezing
Just tried it in R19 and R20Demo. In both can set 5000 guides by entering number, but when switch to edit and makes few moves with brush c4d crash. Did you tried just move slider for guide count instead of enetering number? For me count to 1000 make a crash.
Not related directly to this thread, but was I found useful (maybe call it positive feature) is turning off Furball object, What could be "visual error", because guides are still visible and could be edited with brushes etc., it´ s very helpful feature like to hide hairs from object. Until this time I must disable (temporary) HFG tag for clear manipulation with guides. Now just turn off Furball object...
I tried using the arrows but still working fine, this is in R19: Jeordanis Figuereo (Product Designer. EPHERE Inc.)
I just updated to R9.068 and the latest Ox build 0.0.3.17182, no issues so far. Can you try the latest build? Jeordanis Figuereo (Product Designer. EPHERE Inc.)
Cool, I have not such issue with v.0-0-3-17182
R20 works fine as well with build.17182
Glad to hear it's working fine now. Thanks for reporting. Jeordanis Figuereo (Product Designer. EPHERE Inc.)
