Vertex selection control and grooming?

Hello

I noticed that within the edit guides tag/strands mode I have the ability to select only certain guide points using the control points and influence.  Id like the move, scale and rotate handles to be placed at a chosen pivot position in order to rotate or scale hair from that positon but it seems the control position is the point in which the influence starts from but in both directions, in other words from the middle outward, I cant move the axis handle so how do I change the pivot positon?

Second thing id like to know is how can I select only certain vertex points for use in Brush mode, like for instance the Move brush.  I see that there is a good amount of control over operators/tags via the channle and paint brush, thats nice, but dont see such control via the groom brushes to limit their effect on a vert by vertex basis?

Thanks, Dan

I see what you mean, you want to affect the hair in just one direction, this is a good idea and I see how it can be useful. This is not possible at the moment but I will talk to the team about this.

You cannot select a single vertex on a strand like you would do on a curve but thank you for the suggestion, we will look into this. I think when Hair From Curves is implemented you will be able to groom hair the way you describe.

Hello.

Will it be posible to convert strands to guidess so you could style with strands to get the initial volume, then later on convert that to Curves?  Can you also clarify for termanology sake what the stands and curves are?  I assume a strand is the same as a guids in C4D own hair system, and that a Curve is a Spline?

Thanks, keep up the good work, Ornatrix is coming on realy well.

Right, strands means either guides or hairs. Curves refer to splines. We'll add a tag to convert from and to c4d tags eventually, don't think it's possible at the moment.
