Description: | It would be amazing if we could select indvidaul guides off the Propagation for my control and stylization of feathers. The expression method is a bit clunky in cinema 4d and simply being able to select specifc guides on the propgation and assigning strand group numbers other then 1 would be amazing. |

Hi Richard, You want to be able to select the propagated guides individually? You can do that, they are regular Ox guides, just add an Edit Guides modifier on top of the Propagation modifier. You also want to assign a different strand group to each propagated guide? Please clarify. You can set a custom strand group for all the propagated guides using the "Result Strand Group" parameter. Placing an edit Guides above Propagation only lets you select the spine of the feather. You have to place edit guides below propagation, I tried doing this and creating strand group for some of the barb guides and assigning strand groups but the operators don't take note. They apply it to the whole feather. Please see my scene for further info. I want to create strand groups for sepcfic propergated guides as it allows more control for styling very unique feathers.

I just tested in V1 and it works as expected, you can add Edit Guides after Propagation and it allows you to select strands and assign strand groups to them. However, I can see there is a problem in V2 beta. We will investigate. Thank you. Jeordanis Figuereo (Product Designer. EPHERE Inc.)

Just wanted to report how the latest beta patch currently acts. Strand group selection shown in 3.jpg results in 3_randomresult after assigning my selection to strand group 3. Seems to be just randomy selecting guides. Attached Files: 3.JPG (357285 bytes), 3_randomresult..JPG (204583 bytes), feather_strandgroups.c4d (370405 bytes), |
