Hello,

What exact build of Ornatrix are you using? I tried with build 6.1. in Max 2019 but I cannot reproduce this issue.

As i said, it's tested on Ornatrix v6.1.3.18836.

Fun fact : i've tried to import an old asset (character made with 3ds2017 & Ox v5) and the viewport is bug too but the render is fine.

So i can confirm that, in the teapot test, the render looks fine too, it's only a viewport bug.

Alright. But again, I cannot reproduce this issue in any version or combination of Ornatrix and Max. I will ask someone else in the team to try it. You can also try turning going to Ornatrix settings in the Ox toobar and change the display mode from OptimizedMesh to Mesh.

I cannot reproduce it either.

Does it happen with 3dsmax versions before 2019? And does it happen with earlier Ornatrix versions in 3dsmax 2019?

It looks like at the end of the video Max crashes, is that right? If yes, please upload the Ornatrix3dsMax.log file from the %TEMP% directory.

Hello,

- Don't know if it can make a difference, but i don't have a standard installation since i need a triple installation.
I have 2016 and 2017 with 5.2.1 and 2019 with 6.1.3, not installed with installer, but file copied to folders.

- I've tried to change the viewport display in Ox setting and indeed lines & mesh are working fine, only optimised is bug.

- Here's the log file after crash. I don't see any interesting information, but you tell me :)

Thanks !

There's nothing interesting in the log file indeed. Another possible source of useful info is the dump file that 3dsMax generates on crash. But in this case it looks like Max disappears without showing the crash dialog, so maybe there's no dump file either.

The manual installation is a possible cause, yes. We're currently working on separate installers for each Max version so when we release that you'll be able to install V6 for 2019 without removing V5, then you might try again. At the moment another option is, though a bit risky, to uninstall V5, install V6, then add V5 manually.

If the problem remains with the latest cleanly installed V6, given that it doesn't happen on other machines I guess it might be caused by some driver incompatibility, the OptimizedMesh uses the GPU heavily.

Alright i'me gonna try to install properlly the v6 for 2019 and try again waiting for a good multi installer :)

Thanks

Does the crash persist after switching the display mode?

Jeordanis Figuereo (Product Designer. EPHERE Inc.)

Drivers updated, still got bugs.

The crash is happening when changing the distribution type. (Hair From Guide > root distribution)

In mesh or linear display mode i don't have any bug or crash. Only optimised is compromised.
