Problem

Description:

3dsmax 2015 sp2

ornatrix demo v3.1.0.6

I import an obj mesh in max and I set an Ox Hair from mesh stripes object

then I add the mesh imported to the Ox Hair from mesh stripes and I have to rotate the stripes

then I add an Ox Render settings and I setup fast raytracer from delection

I can render without problem and change settings of Ox hair modifier

after a while or if I try to save my work I have a warning message saying : save is disabled in demo version

then if I try to render or to change a setting in any Ox hair modifier, 3dsmax crash ( An error has occured...)

I don't have this problem if I work with Ox Guides from shapes for example

So is it a demo version problem ? because this feature would be part of my workflow...

thanks

PS : I can't suceed in uploading my file

Steps to Reproduce:

import an obj mesh in max

Set an Ox Hair from mesh stripes object

add the mesh imported to the Ox Hair from mesh stripes

rotate the stripes

add an Ox Render setting

setup fast raytracer from delection

after a while or if I try to save my work I have a warning message saying : save is disabled in demo version

render or to change a setting in any Ox hair modifier, 3dsmax crash ( An error has occured...)

Attached Files:

tried in 3dsmax 2014 and 2011 with Ox Hair 3.1.0.6 to Ox Hair 3.1.0.1 and still the same problem : 3ds max crash after the message "save is disabled in demo version"

so I can't go any further in testing the Ox mesh to stripes feature :(((

Just checked the full version and this doesn't happen, seems to be demo related. I will now test the demo version.

The crash will be fixed in the next build. Meanwhile I'd recommend turning off the auto-save feature since that is what causes the message box and then the crash. The values for all modifiers in demonstration mode are reset right before you try to save which is what causes this problem. This is a demo limitation.

hello Marsel,

I didn't think at the auto-save option, thanks for the tip

ok glad to know it's only a demo version bug because otherwise, Ornatrix seems robust and pleasant to use....

thanks for your fast support and keep up the good work ;)
