Strange, let me try the demo. It definitely works well in full version. Marsel Khadiyev (Software Developer, EPHERE Inc.)
Thanks man! I'd really appreciate if you can fix it. Then I'll try to check it out and take a decision whether to include this in our pipeline or not. Thanks again.
Just tried it here and seems to be working well without crashing. In step 1 do you use the Fur Ball groom to add the hair? Do you add edit guides to the top of the stack, or below HairFromGuidesNode as intended? Marsel Khadiyev (Software Developer, EPHERE Inc.)
I used the default one and also used a manual one. But everytime, I put it below HairFromGuidesNode. I have attached a screenshot for you. This screenshot is from Maya 2014, but I have the same problem with 2016. I also have Maya LT licence, but I think Ornatrix does not support LT? Attached Files:
Are you using Viewport 1 or Viewport 2? Don't think we tested with LT. Marsel Khadiyev (Software Developer, EPHERE Inc.)
Just tried it in legacy viewport and it also works fine. Wonder what else it could be. Marsel Khadiyev (Software Developer, EPHERE Inc.)
I will update you in about 10 hours after checking from another PC. Maybe it's an issue with my maya version. I appreciate you taking time and check this for me. I'll surely update. Thanks.
Sounds good, please let me know. Would like to investigate the source of the crash on your current computer too, need to think how. Marsel Khadiyev (Software Developer, EPHERE Inc.)
Hey, I can confirm that it works perfectly with other PC, just not mine. It worked well without crashing in my office PC. My home PC is a mess and maybe it is not working because I did not maintain the Autodesk folder properly? I used to run many different versions of maya since 2011 including student builds. My autodesk folders were never clean. Could it be because of any file conflict or something? Anyway, can I ask you what type of maintainance/support you offer if we purchase the product?
| I doubt the crash is related to a maintenance problem, although anything is possible. It is hard to tell without actually debugging on the computer, but it looks like it is some video driver issue potentially. We offer full support up to our capacity for the version you purchase. There's usually also a good overlap between versions when we start beta for a new one. We prioritize issues based on their impact and importance, however, I think our track record is pretty good. | Thanks, really appreciate your time and effort. |
I am having this issue as well. I'm using the latest build (1.2.1.10620). I have tried older builds. Tried it on two different computers. Both computers have maya 2014, windows 10, both have nVidia cards. I add quick fur, click on edit guides, click brush, maya crashes.
Hi Gabe, Do you have access to another version of Maya that you can try? Jeordanis Figuereo (Product Designer. EPHERE Inc.)
I installed maya 2016 just now. It seems to work there. I can use that from now on.
Good to hear it is working. Jeordanis Figuereo (Product Designer. EPHERE Inc.)
