Hello! Is it possible to use splines to recomb the hair? Like with standard Max hair&fur. Now that Zbrush 4R2b has hair inside it and we can export and convert it into splines in Max, it would be extremely nice to use those imported splines as hair guides on a mesh that already has grown hair. I did not find anything like this in the online documentation. Is this possible or is this thread going to be a 'requested feature' thread? :)
Thanks!

Hello, There's a Ox Guides from Splines modifier, is this what you're looking for? After doing that you can use Ox Ground Strands to 'ground' the generated guides onto a mesh and from there you can add Ox Hair from Guides to generate the dense hair. If this gives the same result as a 'recomb from splines' in standard Max hair&fur (you generate hair on a mesh, recomb it using splines to match the shape of the hair to the splines, and then you can manipulate - comb it manually even further), then it is what I was curious about. If this generates hair between 2 splines (let's say) then it's not what I'm looking for.

You can add Ox Edit Guides modifer and change the shape of the guides after importing the splines at any time. Marsel Khadiyev (Software Developer, EPHERE Inc.)

Hi, I'm also trying to acheive the same thing as aquarius. I applied a "Ox Guides from Shape" (I supose that's what you meant by "Guides from Splines modifier"). I added a "Ox Hair from Guides", a "Ox Ground Strands" (selected that base geo), added "Ox Render Settings" with a "VrayOrnatrixMod" on top. What I get is hairs following the guides precisely but with no hairs interpolated in-between the guides. Here's a thousand-words-image to clear things up. With 30'000 hairs I get this:
Thank you for your time.

Hi Olivier, Is there a reason you are applying Ox Ground Strands above Ox Hair From Guides? What happens if you move it so it is directly above Ox Guides From Shape modifier? Marsel Khadiyev (Software Developer, EPHERE Inc.)

Hi guys,
Just bought my licence today and I started playing around and I just can't seem to get this working. It just doesn't want to interpolate between two or more splines for me. I did a lot of tests and its just not working for me. Can anyone shed some light on this or maybe share a simple max scene ? I would be very gratefull! Thanks

I don't want to burst anyones bubble but seriously what's up with support on this forum ? I knew that there aren't any tutorials out there when I decided to buy Ornatrix and I can live with that but at least try to be there for your users...

Hello Hanson, Could you post a screen capture of your issue like the users above or even better a simple scene that shows your issue? This would help us a lot to understand the issue. Thanks! Michael

Hello Bruno, Oliverth's issue was that he had Ground Strands above Hair from guides. I think Hasans issue was that he did not ground the strands he was working with. Not sure what your issue might be. Could you post a simple scene that shows what you are trying to achieve please. Thanks Michael McCarthy

Hi. Simply way for me is just to get the possibility to "convert splines to guides" then if i want select base geo. Sometimes I don't need my hairs to be parent to some objects. Like less say spider web. In your way o have to chose the mesh base object to gest Ornatrix hairs. Otherwise not working. Not sure this but can't get hairs without showing base geo. Let me know I hope I'm wrong. Best. PO

You should be able to use OX Guides from Shape for this. Thanks Michael |
