Hi I did an animated character with long hair. How can I make this hair colide with this character head and showder? Ive add the character in the "active colision surfaces" but it is not coliding. thanks |
| Did you run the simulation and bake it? |
| Yes. I used the massfx bake tools. |
| Could you send me some example scene with of ornatrix hair coliding with other deforming meshes? I think it will be very helpfull. thanks |
| Are you using Max 2013? If so you can place MassFX rigid body objects to where the shoulders should be and attach them to your rig. The hair will auto-collide with MassFX rigid body objects. Marsel Khadiyev (Software Developer, EPHERE Inc.) |
| ok. but is there a way to make the hair collide with the deforming mesh itself?
|
| This is a limitation of MassFX. It is at this point rided body only. If you need to collide with a deforming mesh the cloth dynamics workflow is best. There you can creat cloth strips from guides using the OX Mesh from Guides modifer and simulate them with the cloth modifer. Then you can use the OX Guides from Guide Mesh to convert them back to hair and render them. Its a pretty seamless workflow that studios like Blur use for their deforming characters. | Cool! This solved my problem Michael! Im still fighting with all the parameter but I see that it is working. Do you guys have any tutorial or help explaning all the process? thanks a lot! |
| Hello, We have some quickstart video tutorials that will release shortly. The first set will be general setup and grooming and basic dynamics ones will follow. Thanks Michael McCarthy |
