Hi, I'm having problems generating hair from splines. I've already applied Ox Guides From Shape to the splines and grounded the splines to a source object. The Ox Hair From Guides modifier spreads hair all over instead of only on the spline guides. When Guides as Hair is selected for root distribution (which is the only way I can find to not distribute hair throughout an object), only the guides themselves render with no hair interpolation in between. What am I missing? I've attached a screen shot of my settings as well as a test scene demonstrating this "problem". I'm on the latest version of Ornatrix (3.1.2.0 Feb 14 updates) with 3ds Max 2015. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you! - JX

Hello JX, Hair is only guided by the guides so it will grow on the entire surface unless you tell it otherwise. You can do this by: Creating a hairshell (just the polygons yo u want hair to grow on) Using a Subobject Selection of where you want hair to grow Using MatIDs for where you want the hair to grow.
Hope that helps Thanks Michael | |
