Hi, Me and the wompany were i'm working have bought a license Ornatrix. It seems to work well but unfortunetly, when it begin to render with Backburner, Max crash, don't render and quit. it let the server like this : Adaptater returned unexpected code -2 for "C:\ [...]maxadapter.adp.exe" "-0" Task error; 3dsmax adapter error : Autodesk 3dsmax 14.0 reported error: An unexpected exception has occurred in the network renderrer and it is terminating ... etc, etc ... The scene is only a sphere with ornatrix fur. When all the Ornatrix modifier are "off", there is no more issues. I can render with alls the computer locally, the probleme is only with backburner, even if i render by Backberner on my own station, which is licensied. What I have to do to make it works correct ? Thanks you for your help. |
Some news ... The problem seems to be in the OX Hai from Guides modifier. When only it is desactivated, it works, it is rendering by the backburner (but rendering only the guide is not so useful !) I noticed the scene crash when i am in Nitrous mode, because of the Hair from Guides too. When this modifier is desactivated, it works. When it is visible only for render, nevertheless, it crashs. Maybe it is the same issue ? I work with 3DSmax 2012 and ornatrix 4.1.6.6186. I have a GeForce GTX 560, with the driver 311.06. Thank you and sorry for my english !
Strange that this happens only with backburner. I wonder if there is some way we can reproduce it without it because reproducing with BB on 2012 might be a bit tough here. Marsel Khadiyev (Software Developer, EPHERE Inc.)
Thank you. I think i wrote wrong the last time. I have probleme with direc 3D and OpenGL. With Nitrous,Ornatrix works whithout any problem. The modifier which are problematics seems to be OX Hair from Guides and Hair Clustering. Is there a problem using direct3D 11 with Ornatrix on 3DSmax2012 ? I Though first it was a limitation of Ornatrix, but maybe its anormal. Maybe, when using Backburner, 3DSmax run in direct3D mode and crash, even if it doesn't display ? As I wrote, even if the modifiers are active only in rendering, it crashs too. I noticed : when i make Create/Add Hair in the menu, if i am in direct3D mode, i have this message from maxscript and nothing more happen. no crash, but no hairs. edit : I can see in "display drivers" that the version of direct3D is 9.0, not 11. But in the DxDiag, it is directX 11 which is installed. Is it normal ? Attached Files:
I just tried Direct 3d and OpenGL rendering models on 3dsmax 2012 (x64) here and both display the hair fine. I only have Direct3d 9 option however, not 11 here. Does it also fail for you in OpenGL mode? Marsel Khadiyev (Software Developer, EPHERE Inc.)
Yes, it fail also with open GL. I had the same trouble with the demo version. Il will looking on my side, it seems that its my 3DSmax 2012 who make problem.
Hi, I still have trouble with the direct3D mode. It works with Ornatrix V2, the demo and the commercial i found in the manual installation section of the doc, i can even render with backburner. unfortunatly, because of the differences between the versions, ox modifiers don't work in the same way and the final render doesn't look like as i made on V4. Is it possible to get a demo version of the V3 ? I'd like to try with a more recent version. maybe the differences between V3 and V4 are not so big ?
V3 also uses the same rendering for hair as V4 so I doubt it'd help. Here's a demo link you can try: https://www.ephere.com/plugins/autodesk/max/ornatrix/Demonstration.3.3.0.0.single.install I am still puzzled by what could be causing the crash and/or how to reproduce it. Maybe it is hardware or driver related. Marsel Khadiyev (Software Developer, EPHERE Inc.)
Just to nail down one part of this. With Nitrous there is no crash and it works correctly with Backburner correct? Thanks Michael
Hi Michael. No, it isn't what i wanted to say. It seems that on all the max 2012 of my company, Ornatrix works only whith nitrous. If i work in direct3D or openGL mode, max2012 crash. I don't know why, it is the "ox hair from guide" modifier which makes it crash. Then, even if i am working in Nitrous mode on my station, when I render with Backburner, it crashs on all the render station. It crashs as it was rendering in another mode than Nitrous, and works if i desactivate the modifiers "ox hair from guide". So i supposed the two problems are linked. I have recently tried to install older version of ornatrix on the render stations. I have no problem with the V2 in direct3D mode, and when i used backburner with ornatrix V4 in Nitrous mode, it can render through the other stations which are in ornatrix V2. Unfortunatly, the result is not the same because, as I check, modifiers like "frizz" don't react in the same way. Yesterday, I tried Ornatrix V3, it works in direct3D mode so I could use Backburner but it was not the same result, again. The modifiers are not the same from OrnatrixV4 to OrnatrixV3.
| Hi, I tried on an other computer, with an new installation of 3DSmax2012 without any plugin, but i have still the same problem. Is it possible it came from the fact that i 'm working with window 7 in french ? Could it be a problem of wrong path for the scripts ?
