Hello,

I'm student and i'm actually on my character's hair.

first i was making my hair on Zbrush fibermesh to have my form and curves,

i've imported all of them, then on my editable spline, i put "Ox Guides from shapes", then Ox Ground Strands, "Ox Hair from Guides","Ox Strand Detail", "Ox Render Settings" and VrayOrnatrixMod.

In "Ox Hair from Guides" i put in root distribution "Guides as Hair" to keep the same form as my fiber,
but the're is not enough hair of course and i wonder if i can had more without fucked-up my haircut and without add more and more guide?

maybe it's better to do all the stuff on Ornatrix ?

Thanks for your time,

Hello,

Guides as Hair should give you the exact look you have in zbrush. If you did not have enough hair you will want to create more with Hair from Guides. This would basically use your Zbrush hairs as guides and generate more from them. You have many options as far as interpolation in that regard to make your groom look similar to the guides.

Thanks

Michael

Have to dig that out.

I have a problem with the zbrush exportet curves in ornatrix which i cant handle yet.

my stack looks like this:

VrayOrnatrixMod

OxRender Settings

Ox Strand Frizz

OX Strand Curling

Ox Strand Clustering

Ox Strand Lenght

Ox Hair from Guides

Ox Ground Strands

Ox Guides from Shape

Editable Spline

Now when i render it with a VrayHairMtl i always get a kind of block look to the strands. As i have a bad distribution of the hairs or a bad interpolation,

-Root Distribution ist on Random Area

-interpolation space on Affine Interpolation

-Interpolation Guide Count on Interpolate between 2 guides

no matter which method i use,i always get a pattern like Effect in the hair.-> See Attchament.

Hi Daniel,

Are those red marks the tips of the hair? if so, it looks like the splines you used for this hair are inverted.

thanks,

but those red marks were painted to show the blocky look on the hair.

i now fixed it by using the length mod with randomness :-)
