i could imagine two ways to control the guides length with Sinks.

The first one is to have a checkbox that make the Direct-Sinks not only control the direction of the guides but also there lenght depending on its own length.

The second one is to create a fourth Sink type just for the length control that allways directs along the surface normal. I personally would prefer this solution because maybe sometimes you don't need as much interpolations for the length as for the direction or even no direction at all in case of very long Hair for example where you rahter would use OxEditGuides.
