Description: | It would be nice to have a brush that can easily raise the hairs at the roots without affecting the hairs farther down the strands. It would help to fix hair that is inner penetrating the mesh without messing up the overall styling. |

There is a pull brush which does this. You can define the strength curve along strand length to pull just the roots or just the tips, or any combination of them. Marsel Khadiyev (Software Developer, EPHERE Inc.)

I'll give this a try, but in my experience so far, the Pull brush tends to add a lot of kinks at the falloff edges of the tool. Maybe I'm not using it correctly, though. John Brophy Fine Art www.jbrophy.com

Didn't want to make another request just for this, but I would really like to have a fluff roots modifier. It would make it easy to comb along a surface exacltly and then dial in the "fluff" with a modifier in a procedural way. I am just working on a goat and that would be really valuable to me right now :)

Ok, I suppose you mean the ability to fluff on a global level rather than using a brush? Does pull brush work for you currently? Marsel Khadiyev (Software Developer, EPHERE Inc.)

Yes for manual styling with the edit guides. It's just that I would like to add as you say global fluff (or puff as I think is called in max's hair) |
