Problem

Description:

I installed v4 and v3 and tried in maya 2020 and maya 2022 to make a sphere, and reduce the width of the fur, each strand renders as giant circles, no matter what I do,

I initially had this issue after opening an old scene, and now no matter what I do, I can't get any ornatrix fur to work on old scenes, or even just new test scenes, eventually I reinstalled my operating system and installed nothing but maya and ornatrix. I'm rendering in redshift- this all seemed to work before, now the only version that works with the width correctly is 2.5, but then i don't seem to have the smooth operator, so can't subdivide meshes at rendertime.

I'm pretty stuck here, any ideas ?

also, when i try to start maya 2022, i get this error-

the procedure entry point AiArrayGetVec could not be located in the dynamic link library C: blah blah- ePhere.Ornatrix.ArnoldProcedural7.0.dll

thanks
Andrew

Steps to Reproduce:

also- I should mention, I'm using the latest redshift version 3.054, freshly downloaded and installed. completely fresh windows install with the latest maya 2020, 2022, ornatrix and redshift versions all freshly installed.

seems to be the same issue-

but maybe a different cause ?

thanks

Hi,

This issue has been reported before. It is a similar issue to the post you linked above. The problem is related to Redshift and the implementation of our SDK on their side. We notified the developers and they promissed to fix it. Keep an eye open for a new Redshift build. A good idea is to also post this on their forums.

Ok, thanks for getting back to me- ill try previous redshift versions

and as for this error? it pops up about 5 times when opening maya 2022
seem like an arnold issue ?

The error is probably because you don't have Arnold installed or you don't have the latest version. This should not affect you if you are using Redshift.

Edit: When Arnold is loaded it tries to load all Arnold Procedurals, including ours, so you get the error. If you are not using Arnold you should disable "Auto Load" for it.
