Problem

Description:

Sink arrows inaccessible/invisible after a while (random), although the shape of the flow is kept. Forced to recreate if needs to be changed. Also, moving the arrow's pointer is inaccurate, works well only moving on Z -- making it longer or shorter. Thank you.

Steps to Reproduce:

Thank you for the report, Sam. I tested it locally and all seems to be working well.

Do you have any more information about when the sinks disappear? Or maybe you could send me a scene to try which shows the inaccurate pointer movement?

Hi Marsel. I'm attaching the Maya file. This is also the one which will not save a complete Groom stack (only nodes below the render node are created). Thank you!

Thank you for the scene, we are investigating. I also notice a strange bug: when I open your scene, go into editing mode of surface comb, and try to modify the direction of the sinks first time they jump to a different position on the mesh.

I notice that you use poly smooth operator on birdBody shape. It is a good idea not to change topology of the mesh you use for the hair/feathers. If topology changes the sinks will jump to different locations with it.

Yes, I noticed that. In that case, I would have to recomb, it's no problem. But the missing arrows is a separate scenario. This morning again, I wanted to adjust the SurfaceComb and only a few guides show up (please see the attached image). On a separate note, when RotateNode is applied (Orient based on stand shape ON), the feathers face the wrong way. Flipping normals works, but would be nice to not mess with the geo.  Thank you for your help, please let me know if you need anything else.
