Problem

Description:

Ornatrix has been running fine for a couple of weeks. Windows 10 updated a couple of days ago, since then have been unable to run Ornatrix for Maya (crashes Maya trying to load scene with Ornatrix inside). Attempted to start Ornatrix (plug in manager) from clean Maya start, and cannot install license server. Little popup window labelled Ephere Product Licensing pops up, with Install License button option -OR- Connect to a License Server with 127.0.0.1 pre-loaded. Neither of these work. Trying to connect results in dialogue box saying "This computer has a previously assigned license". Pressing Install License button gives:

"Please wait, licensing in progress...
Installing license server
Process returned exit code 1"

Tried installing standalone license server installer from Downloads page, get same result when trying to run from CMD line:

"Please wait, licensing in progress...
Installing license server
Process returned exit code 1"

No Ephere or Ornatrix service is listed in Windows Services.

Tried excluding C:\Users\<USER>\AppData\Local\Ephere\Ephere.Licensing.LicenseServer.exe from Windows Defender in case it was blocking it. Also tried to allow it in Windows Firewall.

Tried running that file from CMD, another cmd window pups up for a split second with no text and disappears. Assume it is trying to run the license server but is getting blocked somehow.

Tried uninstalling and reinstalling Ornatrix, no luck, same thing. Checked permissions on Ephere.Licensing.LicenseServer.exe and has full Admin permissions, tried run as Admin, still no luck. Tried deleting Maya Prefs, didn't solve it.

Any help? Thanks.

Steps to Reproduce:

Upadte Windows 10, try to run.

Sounds like the license service didn't survive the update. Please use the "Reset License" link here and then reinstall the license server (using Install License Server Only link):

Thank you so much for the immediate response Marsel. I did as you suggested and after a reboot everything seems to be working fine again!

Much appreciated!

Cheers-

I recently updated Win 10 also and then reinstalled maya but after having some issues gettign the license to install, it then went through but still shows running in demo mode when i try to save. Should i try resetting my license in the same way also?

If you're getting the demo message it means you installed the demo version. Please make sure you log in on the downloads page and grab the commercial version of Ornatrix, and install that.
