Problem

Description:

Hi,

I'm generating hair from curves I generated with Xgen (or created manually). When adding a create hair operator and some other operators on top the hair is not visible in the viewport using Maya's Viewport 2.0. USing the defaul oldskool viewport settings it appears again.

When in Viewport 2.0, selecting the topnode in Ornatrix window magically shows the hair in viewport. With the topnode still selected in Ornatrix window,  navigating to Maya's atrribute editor and selecting operators from this location keeps showing the hair. But slecting that same operator from Ornatrix windows makes it dissapear again.

This is a quite tedious workflow. Also sometimes the attribute editor is not showing all operators. For now the solution is not using Viewport 2.0.

This problem appears in Maya 2016.5 and 2017 (not checked in 2016)

Cheers,

Marcus

Steps to Reproduce:

Hi Marcus,

There's a toggle in the operator stack window called "Show End Result". Do you have that off by a chance? When off, it will show the result up to the selected operator and not for the overall stack.

Hi Marsel,

The 'show end result' button was checked. So that can't be the issue. There was one weird thing. After doing a first render with Arnold renderer the viewport updated and the issue was gone. I'm checking this again later tonight to see if it happens again.

Cheers,

Marcus

Ok, strange indeed. Does it happen in just any scene? Maybe you can post a few repro steps?
