Problem

Description:

I am attempting to create HairFromMeshStrips using nCloth output cloth.  I'm attaching an image of what happens.

The top is an nCloth mesh with a ramp texture applied.  The bottom shows HairFromMeshStrips (+ a RenderSettings node) on the same nCloth with the same texture plugged into a RedshiftHair shader.

First of all, the hair (at the roots) doesn't inherit the color of the nCloth strip.  More importantly, the hairs can change colors between frames.  I don't think this is expected behavior?  If so, how do I "stabilize" the hair colors so they don't change between frames?

Steps to Reproduce:

Whoops, forgot the attachment.

Thank you for the report. Do you think you can also upload the scene so I can be sure I am trying the same thing?

Sure - this is a scene with a different ramp applied, but I think you should be able to see the same effect, with the hair color changing as you step through frames.

Thank you, we will have a look.

Hi dsyee, this is now fixed, but you'll also need the next release of redshift as well.

Best,

E.

Great, thanks!
