Problem

Description:

While using Hair from mesh strip V-ray ignores radius and ramp on renderSettingsNode.
Same scene works fine with arnold on Maya 2017. 

Warning: Ornatrix: Hair::UpdateStrandTransformationsFromDistributionMesh() I don't have surface dependency info to work with

I need to solve this issue asap, i would appreciate any suggestions to workaround

Steps to Reproduce:

Create polygon plane
Hair from Mesh strips
Render settings
Render v-ray

Strange, this issue was resolved in V-Ray a little while ago.

On V-ray 3.40.40, there was a V-ray fatal error on Maya 2016 it didn't render anything, now on version 3.40.06 renders but ignores radius

Confirmed, I contacted Chaos Group about this.

It looks like quick workaround is to export Ornatrix Alembic from hair while using mesh strips and rendersetings. Radius is updating in viewport so it is possible to set correct parameters, and after exporting Ornatrix Alembic, and importing as V-ray proxy it renders fine
