Problem

Description:

We did our first Ornatrix update for Maya 2017, but maya doesn't load the plugin anymore.

The error log said that Ornatrix doesn't file the licence anymore. We reinstall the earlier version and it's working.

Any idea ?

Thanks!

Steps to Reproduce:

Hi,

Please verify if Ephere.LicenseServer is running in your task manager.

Jeordanis Figuereo (Product Designer. EPHERE Inc.)

Please provide some more info: did you update to the latest 1.1.8 version, which is your OS, and what is the Maya version?

We made some changes to the licensing code in 1.1.8 on Mac and Linux, so it is possible that something got broken there (but we don't expect problems on Windows).

Thanks for the reply.

Nope we checked this side, and the task is running. We just update the folder on workstations but the licence server has never been moved away.

We are running on :

- Windows 10 Pro 64bits (Build 14393)

- Maya 2017 (vanilla build)

Can you look for the file OrnatrixMaya.log in the directory %TEMP% and upload it here?

Thanks.

Actually, there may be another error message in the Script Editor before "No valid licenses to load the plugin".

- Script editor :

"// Error: line 1: No valid licenses to load the plugin (Ornatrix) // "

We don't have any other line before this one.

- In the OrnatrixMaya.log :

"Log starts on 2017-02-10 11:21:12, Ornatrix 1.1.8.10082 Release, Autodesk Maya 2017 Update 2 win64, batch mode: no"

And on the top of that there is just logs about work on 1.1.7.9934 but i uploaded the file just in case.

OK, thanks for the log file, no useful info there indeed. We need to move to the next step.

Please try the following:

Open a command prompt and run this command

set EPHERE_LICENSE_LOGGING=e

Start Maya from the same command prompt like this:

start "C:\Program Files\Autodesk\Maya2017\bin\maya.exe"

(or whatever is the path to maya.exe)

Try (and fail) to load the plugin, then upload here the file EphereLicensingLog.txt from the %LOCALAPPDATA% directory.

Okay, due to a production in progress, it will be better to us to wait until monday for doing the steps you mentioned above.

I'll post a new message monday with the EphereLicensingLog.txt link to it. :)

OK, I'll just ask you to download and install the nightly build that will be available at that time (10092 or later), as it will print more info to the logs.

Well, we upgraded Maya to its last build and it seems that wa no longer have any crashes. We think that the instability problem was caused by maya vanilla.

Thanks for your help and your time.
