Problem

Description:

When trying to apply a groom that was created using HairFromMeshStrip, there is an error that pops up.

 

Error: Ornatrix: D:\TeamCity\buildAgent\work\cdf694efa24c5eef\Ephere\Plugins\Autodesk\Maya\Ornatrix\Private\HairTemplate.cpp(539): Assert failed (3): dagModifer.doIt(): (kFailure): Unexpected Internal Failure //

As of now, this does not work.

Steps to Reproduce:

Create a groom using this method. Save it out using Generate groom from selected. Then select another mesh very similar in shape and using add hair to selected, choose the saved out groom. Bam, error pops up.

Thanks for the report. I'm not sure if this is a bug or if this feature is not implement yet. I created a ticket anyway, I'll keep you posted.

James, just to confirm, this is not a bug. HairFromMeshStrips is not compatible with groom presets for now, but the ticket will remain open for the future.
