Problem

Description:

Hello,

when i use Edit Guides Shape brush to modify multiple guides ,in Viewport 2.0 is Very delayed(maya2017 , in Legacy Default Viewport is very smooth and good.

Steps to Reproduce:

Especially,in Guides From Mesh,set guides“count”to 1000,set guides“Point count”to 50,and use Edit Guides Shape(Move Brush)to modify multiple guides,the result is Very delayed.Under the same settings,in 3dsmax,the result is Very smooth and good.

Hi Chen,

We are aware of the difference in performance between Ox for Maya and Max and we are working on that. Instead try using a Detail node with a lower point count for the viewport and the final point count for rendering.

Thank you very much.

Is there an update with the viewport issue? I have been working with both Ornatrix 1 and the beta and the beta is way ahead as far as viewport issues. It take like two minutes for each time I use the comb brush. I would just work in Ornatrix Beta but my pipeline at school is using Ornatrix 1.

Hi Ted,

We have made some improvements in grooming performance in V2 beta, you can see a quick demo in the FB group, right now we are focused on V2 and a lot of performance improvements are being made as we speak. We hope to get Ox for Maya at the same level of Ox for Max.
