Hi, I cannot reproduce this on my end, UDIMs are working fine here with all the operators in any multiplier slot. See image below. Are you able to reproduce this in a new scene? Maybe I should take a look into your scene if possible. Attached Files:Jeordanis Figuereo (Product Designer. EPHERE Inc.)
Hi, Thanks for the answer ! Here is the maya file and next to it the density maps to be plugged as UDIM in the distribution multiplier of the HairFromGuideNode. Big Company 22 rue Chinard 69009 Lyon T 04 37 65 07 95 F 04 72 74 43 38
Hi, The problem is that we do not support "non-serial" UDIMs until Ornatrix v2 beta, this was requested not long ago. This can be fixed easily: In your scene your texture naming jumps from ArmDensity.1006 to ArmDensity.1011. To fixed I just had to created the remaining textures from 1007 to 1010 to fill the gap. These can be blank 1x1pixels images. Jeordanis Figuereo (Product Designer. EPHERE Inc.)
Thanks a lot for the debug, we'll do that for the next characters. Big Company 22 rue Chinard 69009 Lyon T 04 37 65 07 95 F 04 72 74 43 38
Hi, Unfortunately i did what you advised but it didn't worked... Have you been able to do it on your side ? Cheers Yann Big Company 22 rue Chinard 69009 Lyon T 04 37 65 07 95 F 04 72 74 43 38
Yes, I did it in your scene (I forgot to update the gif): As you can see in the image above the UDIMs are working using the method I mentioned. You just have to include the missing UDIMs or create blank images and fill the gap in the naming as I did here: Attached Files:Jeordanis Figuereo (Product Designer. EPHERE Inc.)
Hi, For now we can't get the same result... We made another test with a simple plane and it seems that there is a difference between ornatrix and maya on the interpretation of the UDIM maps. We made a test file and a render for you to see what we mean. Cheers Big Company 22 rue Chinard 69009 Lyon T 04 37 65 07 95 F 04 72 74 43 38
Your scene it's working fine here (See gif below). Your scene was using legacy viewport by default, which doesn't preview UDIMs correctly. I had to change to Viewport 2.0. Anyways, it works well on me end, Ornatrix handles the UDIMs correctly. Can you show me a screenshot of your results with this scene? Attached Files:Jeordanis Figuereo (Product Designer. EPHERE Inc.)
Hi thanks for the feedback, Here is the result when we render the scene we provided you. Attached Files:Big Company 22 rue Chinard 69009 Lyon T 04 37 65 07 95 F 04 72 74 43 38
Hi, Unofrtunatelly I cannot reproduce this here. How does your scene looks in viewport? What version of VRay are you using? Can you try with the latest VRay release? Jeordanis Figuereo (Product Designer. EPHERE Inc.)
Hi, We are using Maya 2017 Update 5, Vray 3.60.01. Which version of maya and vray are you using ? Big Company 22 rue Chinard 69009 Lyon T 04 37 65 07 95 F 04 72 74 43 38
I'm using the exact same version of Maya and VRay. How does the UDIMs and hair looks in viewport? Jeordanis Figuereo (Product Designer. EPHERE Inc.)
Hi, I was wondering if you can provide us with the arm scene you fixed with the maps you fixed and that worked for you. So we can try it here. Thx a lot Big Company 22 rue Chinard 69009 Lyon T 04 37 65 07 95 F 04 72 74 43 38
Sure, you'll only need the maps, I'm attaching them to this message. Jeordanis Figuereo (Product Designer. EPHERE Inc.)
Hi, We finaly fix the problem, it was the maya update, we were on the update 3 when i updated on the update 5 it worked !! Super cool :) But... we encountered another issue. All our projects are saved on a NAS, to manage this NAS we installed FreeNas. It seems that ornatrix is not loading well the maps coming from this NAS. But when we load the maps from a Windows server or a Windows machine it's working. Any ideas why ? Cheers Big Company 22 rue Chinard 69009 Lyon T 04 37 65 07 95 F 04 72 74 43 38
Hi, UDIMs should work correctly even in older versions of Maya, which makes me think that maybe there is something wrong with Maya, not Ornatrix. About the problem with NAS, I don't have a way to test this environment... Can you verify if Maya itself is loading the textures correctly? also try with other plugins. I know some studios using this system and Ox works fine for them. Jeordanis Figuereo (Product Designer. EPHERE Inc.)
