Problem

Description:

Hey, when I create a hair it doesn't render in Arnold and there no defualt shader on it (pyshicalHairSHader) there isn't a shader group to apply to new shader. It worked fine the previous version ( current ver v2.2.5.17764) and arnold core 5.2.1.0 and Maya update 4.

Steps to Reproduce:

Create a fur ball and render. No Shader and no shader group

I just tried in Maya 2018 Update 4, Ox with the latest nightly build 2.2.6.17992 [Nightly] and Arnold 5.2.1.0. It is working fine for me, please try the latest nightly:

Also, have in mind that the default hair shader assigned to Ox hair is the hairPhysicalShader. Which is a separate Maya plugin and will only be assigned to the hair if said plugin is loaded:

No that wasn't it. I had to reinstall an old version and it worked without the plugin for hair shader. I not sure what was going on. But it didn;t have a shader group and I couldn't apply a shader to the hair stack. I did try the nightly and that didn't work. I'll do some test to confirm and get back to you.
