distribution multiplier (with UDIM) and render count

Hello, I just installed Ornatrix yesterday and still watching tutorials, so sorry if this is really beginner question.

When I apply the UDIM(Mari) maps to distribution multiplier in HairFromGuides, fur in viewport decreases a lot, so I need to increase render count like 50000000.  Without the maps, 100000 hair can cover entire polygon.  Am I doing something wrong or is this how it should work?

Also, do the distribution maps only take 8bit jpg?  I tried to use 16bit tiff or exr, but Ornatrix gave me an error message and shut down Maya.

I've attached my scene (Maya 2017) and distribution maps (jpg) to this thread.

Thank you very much.

Can confirm, had to add a multiplier of like x100 to make it dense enough

Is there any more information on this problem?  I'm finding the exact same thing.

Hi guys,

Thank you for bumping this issue, we are looking into it.

I'm trying in a simple scene: A cube with 6 tiles in Ornatrix V3. It seems to be working as expected here. The hair density is consistent with and without UDIM maps assigned to the Multiple Map slot in Hair from Guides. Can you guys try with the latest build and let me know how it goes?
