Render Count and Cut Modifier?

Hello Ephere Team,

I'm having some issues when it comes to Render Count where I already have a huge number in the  and the piece I want to fill in with hairs is still hollow in the viewport and at render time. My curves are perfectly sitting on top of the scalp mesh and the CV count is at 8. Scene is at Centimeters and it's a real world scale. I've been generating my hair from curves and I've been using this workflow for many characters and this is the first time I encounter this and I've been trying a lot of stuff and nothing seems to fix it.

And, I'm also having an issue where I cannot seem to find something alike to the Cut Modifier that Xgen provides. Is there something similar in OX?

Please find attached an image where I explain in detail the issues Im having at the moment. Thank you so much for your time and I look forward to hearing from you.

Does random variation in length modifier not work for you? What is the difference with Cut?

Marsel Khadiyev (Software Developer, EPHERE Inc.)

Thanks for your quick reply Marsel. Length Modifier works but it does not give me the ability to control a Rand Min and Rand Max so it applies it to the overall shape and I end up losing shape rather than just cut a percentage of all the hairs. I have attached an image of what the Cut Modifier looks like and the options that allow you to control the Rand Min and Rand Max. Is this also possible? Maybe I don't know how to set the node up for it.

Also, do you know what's causing the Render Count to not fill completely the tube? It's a huge number  and the tube is still not fill with hairs.

Thanks!

There are Minimum and Maximum value parameters in Length node which do the same thing.

My bad Marsel, I didn't see those two options before. The min and max value are helping. Thank you so much!

When it comes to my other issue regarding the render count being to high and still not filling the inside of the tube, do you know what could be causing it? I think 900,000 is a really high number for density for a single tube and I cannot seem to fill it even if I add keep adding more curves.

Thanks!
