I am trying to render the bangs of a groom that i created for a character. The Bangs are on a separate distribution mesh than the rest of the hair. The width is rendered correctly with the rest of the hair, but with the bangs it doesnt render the width correctly and i get giant card shapes instead of the hair shape. Is there a setting that i missed? Maya_Rendered Hair Maya_ViewportHair I am also having trouble getting the hairs to distribute evenly on the bun. The Bun was generated from curves however when i increased the viewport or render ount the amount of hairs doesnt increase and i get gaps between the guides The Bun is in the Maya_RenderedBun images
Thank you for your time | |

I got the scene. The width renders fine here. What version of Arnold and Maya are you using? The reason why the bun is not generating enough hair is because the interpolation settings are not set correctly for this setup. In Hair From Guides, Use Affine Interpolation in Guide Interpolation and Barycentric Interpolation in Guide Selection. Notice that this will grow hair in the whole distribution mesh. You have to paint a distribution map isolate the growing area to the bun only or use a smaller distribution mesh for the bun or use Hair From Mesh Strips for the bun like we did here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mZ_tSdW6idc Jeordanis Figuereo (Product Designer. Jeordanis, Thank you it worked. I had some issues with the Maya 3D paint tool and its symmetry but what you said worked. | |
