Ornatrix export from Maya to .abc

I've been trying to export a groom to ornatrix alembic so that I can render a scene on a render farm.

What I'm getting is all the curves in an .abc which is unwieldy ( Maya stalls when I select it )

what I was expecting, ( perhaps incorrectly ), was an object that looks similar to the groom with a locked symbol when shown on the ornatrix stack

Maybe I'm doing something wrong. Can anyone advise? Also does it matter if it's Ogawa or HDF5??

Thanks

Hi,

When importing the alembic file set the "Files of Type" menu to Ornatrix Alembic. This will make sure to read the file as Ornatrix Alembic instead of regular alembic.

The difference between Ogawa or HDF5 is compression I think. You can use whatever is set to default. Should not matter for Ox hair.

Thank you Jeordanis, That's a lifesaver! I couldn't figure out why it wasn't working but it seems I was importing it incorrectly.
