HairShape - set Hair Display Mode as 'GPU Hair' by default

I'm using v3.2.8.28851 DEMO. When I create hair, on the HairShape, it sets the 'Hair Display Mode' to "Legacy", by default. In this mode, 'Camera facing hair' and 'Camera facing normals' has no effect. My understanding is, setting the hair display mode to 'GPU Hair' enables these features. How can I change the default to "GPU Hair"? When I switch, a dialog pops up, asking me to restart Maya, but since I'm in demo mode, no Ornatrix data is saved and it's always set to "Legacy". Any work-arounds?

Hi,

This value is set to GPU hair by default. It may have switched to Legacy if you are not using Viewport 2.0. I just tested here and it is working correctly, default is GPU Hair. What version of Maya and OS are you using?

Maya 2020, Windows 10. I'm using viewport 2.0, rendering engine: DirectX 11.

Maya 2020 vanilla? 2020.1 is the minimum required.

2020.4.2

What GPU and Drivers?

Direct X 11 wasnt working but switching to OpenGL compatibility fixed it for me.
