hi! i'm doing wolf hair, i couldn't find any tutorials on youtube about it. Can you please give me some recommendations on how I can do it beautifully.

Easiest way is to add the fur to your wolf mesh, adjust the guide length to how long you want the hair to be and use sinks to change the direction of the fur in different parts of the body.

Yes, I tried that, but for some reason I have quite a few guides. You know that a wolf has pretty short facial hair and closer to the ears it starts to be long. I don't know exactly how to control it...

Hi,

I would start painting a distribution map to determine where I want to generate the fur. Use this map in Hair from Guides.

Paint a length map to use it with the Length operator to determine the length of the fur in different areas. For example, The head and legs will have fue of different lengths. A map helps you create a nice transition.

Paint a map for the clumps. Same as the length. Different areas of the body have different clump density. You can add many layers of clumping with different maps.

Paint a Frizz map. Same as the previous two.

Then I will add the fur ball preset and connect all the maps to see how they look. Start combing the fur guides using the brushes while adjusting the texture maps as needed.

This assumes that you know the basics of Ornatrix.

Grooming preparations:
Scale your character coprrectly. Ornatrix use real world scale for its parameters and hair simulation.

Freez the transformations and delete the history.

I recommend creating a separate UV channel just for grooming. Use a single UV tile.

Thanks for the detailed explanation! I have a question, how do I correctly make the cards you told me and in what program? Substance, PS?
