Hair clipping through mesh while grooming.

how can i stop this from happening, this happens when i have push away from mesh activated also. what are some of the factors of why this is occuring and how do i stop it from happening.

Do you have auto push away from surface activated in Edit Guides? Is difficult to know without looking into the scene but, this option in Edit Guides will only take the distribution mesh as collision mesh,

maybe you are using a scalp that is not big enough or you need to increase the Distance value for Push away From Surface. 

Another option is to use the Push Away from Surface node instead of the option in Edit Guides and add the whole body as collision mesh. This will be slower depending on the density of the body mesh.

i had the push away from surface on edit guides. ill try with the node instead and see if it gives me any different results. also when using push away from surface on a higher value it tends to push the hair away too much from the scalp. 

Yews. You need to tweak the value until you find the best distance for you. Have in mind that all Ornatrix parameters are based on real world scale so for accurate values you need to have a scene in real world scale.
