Ornatric Maya: exporting to Alembic issues/baked hair

Hello, I have a character with baked hair and the character is animated. I am trying to export this character's animated fur to Alembic so I can use the animated fur in a render scene. When I look at the operator stack I see (from bottom to top): HeadProxyShape/Baked Hair/GroundStrands/Shape1. WHat I am doing is I select in the Outliner the "Feathers1" item and I try to export that as Ornatrix Alembic. Maya says no, could not save. Thank you!

Rookie mistake: I was treating this the wrong way and did not choose the top operator. Seems to be fine now.

Exactly. You need to select the hair shape (the top node) in the operator stack. It also work if you select the shape node of the hair object in the Outliner.
