Hello- I looked through the forums for some help with this but I couldn't find anything. I am creating a braided hair style with fine braids and I want to duplicate the single braid I have created from a curve. What is the best way to duplicate and style each braid individually? I have grouped my curve and hair and when I "instance" it, I can see hair but of course when instanced if I adjust one they all get adjusted. When I try to make a "copy" there is no hair there only the curve. Would I need to save this braid out as a groom and constantly import it? Is there a better way of doing this? Thank you for all your help. | |

Hi, it depends. How are you creating this single braid? if you created the braid with Maya curves you can: 1. Convert it to Ornatrix hair using Hair from Curves preset. 2. Create a new hair object in a head scalp. 3. Use the Scatter node in this hair object to scatter the braid in the roots in the newly created hair object. See the videos for Scatter node: https://ephere.com/plugins/autodesk/maya/ornatrix/docs/3/Scatter.html you can use the same workflow as the feathers. Jeordanis Figuereo (Product Designer. Jeordanis--thank you for the support. I was able to add many more curves to the 'Guides from Curves' stack and they duplicated accordingly. Very happy that I can progress--thank you for your help and quick response! |
