scatter rotation

After creating a mesh from strands, how do I fix the issue of the top scatter strands being rotated and misaligned with the mesh?

  1. Modify the guides to create a shape similar to a feather.
  2. Convert to a mesh using the "mesh from strands" tool.
  3. Set up "create nucleus simulation" in the "mesh from strands" node.
  4. The phenomenon of the strands in the top scatter node being rotated occurs.

"You have added the mesh from strands node above the changeWidth node."

"I want the strands to be attached to the simulated mesh without being rotated, just like in the topmost image."

Hi,

Perhaps you forgot to attach an image. I would like to see a screenshot of the issue.

Hi,

If you want, I can send you a sample file.

Yes, please. Attach a sample scene.

You want the scattered feathers to have the same rotation as the target guide, correct?

Yes, that's right. I want the strands shape of the scatter to be rotated into a shape that's the same as the guide transformed into the change guide below. When I added the rotate node to the top of the scatter node, it was difficult to match the rotation of the scatter as desired.

Thanks for your explanation. This is currently not possible as of today but it is a good idea and will be implemented. For you, you can rotate them manually using the rotate tool in Edit Guides. You can select one of the target guides and tweake the rotation.

Thank you for your response.

I was able to rotate the guides in Edit Guides to match the Scattered Strands, but it seems like the guides matched the Scattered Strands, not the other way around. I'm looking forward to a solution in the future where, if there is a mismatch in the rotation values between the Source Scattered Strands and the Mesh, I can still use the Guides as Mesh from Strands for simulation. This could potentially help achieve a more natural feather scattering effect in the wind. I'm curious if this might be considered in the next version.

Thank you.
