Hello, The licence failing has been happening since the afternoon (now is midnight). Is there any problem on your side? I already uninstall, release my license and installing back ornatrix back again but the error keeps appearing. My problem too is that my Maya closes/crashes when closing that window. | I just installed the license server on my computer and it's working. You should do that it's pretty straightforward. |
| Yup, works now. I didn't have to do anything so the server could have been down for some hours. To the Ornatrix team: When this happens, could you please fix not being able to use Maya when the licence server is down? |
| In general we try to fix the server within 10-20 minutes after it fails (we get a notification about it), but sometimes it may happen that no one is available and it may stay down for a couple of hours. It's a good idea to add some kind of tolerance to our products for such cases, but it's not easy to do (without allowing abuse). We'll think about it. Ivan Kolev (Software Developer, EPHERE Inc.) | Thanks Ivan, but what I meant is that instead of closing Maya when the server is down, it would be nice to just disable Ornatrix instead of the whole program (Maya). |
| This is not normal, and I cannot reproduce it. If the licensing dialog is closed, the plugin simply fails to load and a message like "No valid licenses to load the plugin (Ornatrix)" is printed to Script Editor, and Maya continues. What is your setup? Have you enabled Ornatrix to auto-load at Maya start (I tested only with manual loading)? What exactly happens? You try a few times to press Connect, you get an error, finally you close the dialog by clicking the X button, and Maya crashes? Ivan Kolev (Software Developer, EPHERE Inc.) | I reproduced this by loading a scene that contains Ornatrix, looking into it. Ivan Kolev (Software Developer, EPHERE Inc.) E-mail: ivan.kolev at ephere dot com Discord: ikolev |
| Will be fixed in the next build, 33586+. Ivan Kolev (Software Developer, EPHERE Inc.) E-mail: ivan.kolev at ephere dot com Discord: ikolev |
| Hey Ivan, sorry for the late reply. So what happend to me was that I was working using Ornatrix and suddenly I got that product licencing failing dialog. If I close the window using that same scene, Maya keeps working with the exception of Ornatrix (which it's fine if the Ornatrix licencing server is down). However the problem begins if I close that scene and I try to open Maya again. Once the same dialog appears and I try to close it, Maya will close as well. So yeah, try that instead, close maya when the server is down and try to open it again. |
| Yes, the problem happened when starting Maya. If the server fails after Maya has opened, things should be fine (until the server is back), just don't use Ornatrix UI, like the stack panel and Attribute Editor.
