scatter node and propagation node

Hi team, I have an scene in which Im working on a character. It's a complex character with multiple systems. I have been working with the scatter node and propagation node. My scene was doing great but at one point it got corrupted. I saved increments of course, but a lot of the work that I did for my character was lost on my last increments. When I try to open the last scenes I saved it gives me the "fatal error" window. Is there a way to recover my scene?

* Does Maya print any messages to the Script Editor before crashing?

* Does Maya save a crash dump file?

You may send me any of the above info, the OrnatrixMaya20xx.log file from the %TEMP% directory, and your scene too if you are OK to share it.

You may also first try installing the latest nightly build 4.1.8.33735 and see if it will fix the crash.

Hey Ivan,

I think I can't share my scene with everybody, however, I manage to recover it a few moments ago by uninstalling Ornatrix and opening my scene without it being installed. I then hide the group were all of my groom systems where. Then, I installed Ornatrix again and opened that version with the groom systems hidden. It worked! But something ood happend. All of the nodes with ramps in my systems were put in zero (not a big deal since it's something easy I can do again but is something to keep in mind). I am now unchecking the "enable to viewport" option of the scatter node (A suggestion: it would be nice to have that option too for the propagation node itself and the multiplier node to accelerate the viewport).

About the fatal error message; the corrupted files crashed inmediately after the fatal error message. Maya tries to save a backup, but It just crashes after so I can't open the script editor.

the Ornatrix I was using when it currupted the scenes was 4.1.7. Now Im using the lates but that one couldnt opened my currupted files either. I think there's definitly something odd with the propagation and scatter node becasue I have had probblrems in the past, but I will try this time to catch when the crashes or when the corruption happens

The deleted ramps is a known effect of a defect in Maya that we couldn't work around. Ornatrix scenes loaded and saved without the Ornatrix plugin installed will lose their ramp data.
