We will need your scene to investigate the issues. Can you remove from the scene everything that is not related to the problems, save it as a Maya ASCII file, zip it and send it using our contact form at https://ephere.com/contact.html ? Also please tell us your exact Ornatrix version and Maya version.

The Viewport count fraction is 1, but the render counter hair count is far higher than what is viewed in the viewport also when rendered. in the file attached

There are no hair objects in the provided scene. The character is not the same as the one shown above. Perhaps you uploaded the wrong file. Please double check. Check This page for reference. Jeordanis Figuereo (Product Designer. EPHERE Inc.)

Thank you for the scene but there are no hair objects in this scene. It looks similar to the previous scene. By looking at your screenshot and your details above, makes me think that maybe you are either using a multiplier map in Hair from Guides to define where the hair roots should be distributed, Jeordanis Figuereo (Product Designer. True. i maped a texture into the distribution map of the HairFromGuide. How else can i control where i want hair growth area with the root count matching ituitively?

Since Render Count is a multiplier it won't be an accurate number. perhaps we should rename this parameter to make that fact clear. To check the exact root amount so it as I explained above: Just add an Edit Guides node at the top and check the "Strands" field below the selection mode section. That number is accurate.
