Hi, I released the license using the website. I installed the Ornatrix version used on the previous computer.

I was able to download ver 1.3.4.13734 using a different browser. But, still unable to license. Do I need to send the Hardware Ref for this new machine I'm using?

Which error are you getting with licensing? There may have been changes in the current license server which make it incompatible with V1. Does the license server install? What do you see in the command window which pops up when installing it? Marsel Khadiyev (Software Developer, EPHERE Inc.)

Just saw the screenshots. You get the message that license server isn't compatible with your HID. Please try re-installing it from the website. Marsel Khadiyev (Software Developer, EPHERE Inc.)

Thank you Marsel, The uninstall worked, and then when reinstalling I followed the offline computer instructions. I can now see the Ephere License Server service running in the Task Manager. When clicking to activate the plugin in Maya, I get a new error, different from before. This is a new "no valid licenses error," and I do not have this directory D:\TeamCity on my machine, so I'm not sure what else to do.

What do you see if you run the license server manager? Marsel Khadiyev (Software Developer, EPHERE Inc.)

This is what I see with the manager. I can't get anything to appear under the current workstation name. On the machine that died, I used to run the ephere license server from the command line. If the ephere license server is now running in the services, I'm assuming I don't need to do that.

Your screenshot shows that the license server with the correct license is running. However, as I suspected, it probably doesn't work because there were many changes (including to the license server) since V1. We can't really (custom) build the old license server anymore because the code tree has evolved too much at this point. Is there a way you can try switching to V4 (or V5 beta)? Maybe we can try sorting out issues with loading your older grooms? Marsel Khadiyev (Software Developer, EPHERE Inc.)

I'm willing to try it if there isn't any other option. Will v4 or v5 work on older versions of maya as well, like 2018? I'd even be willing to try v2 if it means I don't have to redo any grooms. Thank you.

If I need a newer version of Maya to use v4 or 5, I can bring these characters into a newer version. Long story short, I hired people to model characters for a project and I'm in the process of rendering it. I don't have any experience to fix the grooms if they don't work in newer versions. So, I appreciate the help with the grooms if v1 is no longer an option.

Yes, 2018 is the earliest version supported by V4 and V5 (though we'll likely drop it for V5). You can try V2 as well, to see if the licensing still works there. If you send us a scene (e.g. on Discord or email) we can check locally if something broke/didn't convert correctly before you do it. Marsel Khadiyev (Software Developer, EPHERE Inc.) |
