Camera Facing Hair / Camera Facing Normals not working in any viewport mode (Maya)

Hello,

I recently purchased Ornatrix for Maya and Im having an issue where Camera Facing Hair and Camera Facing Normals have no effect at all in the viewport, no matter which display mode I choose

maya version 2025.3

ornatrix version 5.1.4.37093 [Latest Stab]

gpu rtx 4070 super

nvidia studio driver ver 591.44 Thu Dec 4 2025. Up to date

viewport 2.0

Hair strands never rotate to face the camera and normals stay in world orientation. No change when orbiting the view. No errors or warnings appear in the Script Editor.

I tested this on a brand new scene with a simple sphere + Ox Guides from Mesh + Ox Hair from Guides + HairShape. Same problem.

It's working for me, but Display Mode must be swiched to Optimized or GPU Hair, and Maya must be restarted after switching.

If you did that and it still doesn't work, my guess is that GPU mode won't enable for you for some reason.

i've tried every mode with restart no effect

i found the issue, for some reason it doesn't work with rendering engine DirectX 11 in Preferences > Display > Viewport 2.0. I switched to OpenGL - Core Profile (Compatibility) the hair started facing the camera

Right, GPU display mode only works with OpenGL, didn't think of that.
