Displacement workflow with Redshift

Hi!  I'm making a character with really short fur, so it is important that the root of the strands stay exact on the surface. I have a 32bit tiff displacement map from zbrush. This map is working perfectly with redshift, but ornatrix won't read it. Also when tesselating the geometry in rendertine the strands are still following the untesselated geo. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Hello,

Please. share a screenshot of your hair stack and show me how and where are you connecting the displacement map.

Hi Jeordanis,

My main problem is that I can't connect a 32bit tiff to the channel provided for displacement. I guess my question is, what is the proper workflow for working with displacements and rendertime tesselation? (with redshift the strands are not updated to follow the tesselated geo, it uses the lowpoly viewport geo)

I'm not 100% sure if Ox supports 32bits maps, I'll verify. The displacement map should be connected to GuidesFromMesh and HairFromGuides so the guides have the proper offset. Are you doing it this way?
