Hi, I'm using Maya 2017 update 4 and Redshift 2.5.27. I can't get Redshift to render the full hair count in IPR, is this a known bug? Is there any way I can trick Redshift to show all strands in IPR?

Hello Magnus,

Yes, we are aware of this. Unfortunately that's how RS IPR works. You can increase Viewport Count Fraction (Inside HairFromGuides node) to 1, this way you can render all the hairs on IPR.

Hi Jeordanis,

Thanks for the reply. It's a bit wierd because this is not the case with Yeti and xGen with Redshift, so it must be possible I guess? When I turn up the viewport percentage Maya 2017 gets extremely slow, and it's not possible to work with the scene. I have a brand new computer so it's not the specs...

I remember we looked into this a few months back, but I'll investigate again and give you and appropriate answer and more details if I can.

Hi guys, any update on this one?

Hello Shawn,

We contacted  the developers of Redshift and we agreed that this is how it is suppose to work. When in IPR mode, only what is visible will be rendered. You have to increase the viewport fraction to 100% to show all the hairs. Viewport count and Render count parameters only applies to Bucket rendering. This is how it works all the renderers, at least on Maya. I will update this post if this changes in the future.
