Flickering problem when rendered on a render farm

Hello, I have had trouble with flickering hair when I rendered on a render farm. I think I went through all the steps (remember root position button, set mesh controls quad split to left or right, and reuse triangles) but the render farm produces flickering.(hair moving, not spec) I rendered it locally and there isn't any flickering. So I think there something about remembering the root position that gets lost when it's sent out to the render farm. Can you guys help? I going to  post this on face to see if any one else has had this problem too. Here's a video

Hi Ted,

If you are using HairClustering turn ON RememberClusters.

Hey Jeordanis,

Yeah, I saw that in the beta version but it's not in the stable commericail version. Our pipeline has orntarix version 1.3. (1.3.2.1220000) I'm using Guide cluster and texture maps to drive them. here's a picture of my hair stack.

What happens if you bake everything under HairFromGuides?

Yeah, that didn't work either.

It might be how I built it. I created it from import curves. It was the deleting all by one guide on the edit guides and copy the edit guides anf then add the curves to the edit guides. This was so if the mesh changes I can recreate the hair stack. I also have other hair on a character that I'm rendering on the render farm that is working correcting.

See if the roots of the guides are intersecting the mesh, if so, try using the PushAwayFromSurface button inside EditGuides with a very low value to push them away.

It was the surface comb node. I did some tests with just a base fur and  a base fur with a surface comb and the surface comb made the fur flicker. I tried to use "remember hair position" to make it stop flickering but that didn't help. I think I'll just ulimitate it from my hair stack.

Hi Ted,

Thank you for the extra info, I think this will be enough to help the team fix the problem.

Hello Jeordanis,

We groomed two creatures using Surface Comb modifier and we got the exact same issue as @teddude75. We found out the fur was flickering and going crazy after sending everything to the farm.

I'm wondering if this issue is being fixed for the next build. Right now we're using   Ornatrix Maya v2.4.4.20888 for Windows.

We needed to kill surface Comb on the creatures and ending up using HairFromCurves instead.

Hi Edson,

The latest version right now is v2.4.7. Please try it.
