Hi,

I have a geometry -> "Cat"  low poly that I just smooth at the render time. (VRAY)

Is there a way the fur understand the smooth from Vray and get the same shape? Or I have to smooth the geometry before apply the fur?

the fur looks block right now and not get the right shape.

Thanks in advance.

Hi,

The fur should be subdivided before applying the hair, or else it will change at render time because the hair is topology dependent.

You can try baking the guides and then grounding them to a new subdivided mesh. The hair will not look blocky but it will change, you may have to tweak the operators to get closer to what you had.

Try using GroundStrands operator below hair from guides, use it to ground the guides to the subdivided mesh. The hair will be regenerated, see you are OK with the results.
