Just like you can create a groom from curves, it would be great to be able to convert the groom back to curves again. This would enable more interoperability and expand pipeline opportunities. Unless this feature already exists and I'm missing something?

It does exist but is a bit hidden at the moment (export to Maya hair first converts to curves using CurvesFromStrandsNode and then generates Maya hair from those curves). We are thinking of a way of exposing it better, perhaps directly on the shelf.
