Is there a way to groom and swap out the hair primatives with mesh refrences? This would be a great secondary use for Ornatrix, especially with environments.

Hi James,

You mean like the proxy objects in MeshFromStrands?

Marsel Khadiyev (Software Developer, EPHERE Inc.)

No, moe like this...

It is built into xgen but is way too complicated and heavily relies on the user to enter functions making it absolute not artist freindly.

This is more of a larger feature and may need to be another tool. I think that it would be great if ephere created an environment population tool.

Ah, so it is more about instancing existing objects rather than creating a new mesh. I haven't watched the full video yet, just skimmed over it. Will do it later on in the day, thanks James.

Right, sorry I should be clearer. Thank you Marsel. This is not crucial but if Ephere had this or created an environment scattering tool, it would easily dominate the maya scene.

We have this planned for Ox 3dsmax V6 and I hope it'll seep into Ox Maya V2, I might have some questions for you about this when we get to it :)

Awesome, you know that you can send questions for me anytime Marsel. If you are interested, There is a tool called Carbon that is pretty much the only option for maya when iwt comes to environment scattering.  It may be a good tool to reference.
