It would be great if the guides could be animated via nHair dynamics instead of nCloth. It is much faster and more predictable.

Yes, man! You can do it.

1. Convert your ox guides to Maya curves using strands to curves from Ox;

2. Convert your maya curves to dynamics curves and put your basemesh as Object collision;

3. Start your simulation;

4. For convert again on Ox hair, you an save your simulated curves as Alembic Cache and Import for your basemesh using Hair from Curves method.
