The hair is not rendering at all. I initialy took it that the basic operator stacks where added by default to render hair but they are not, so I added default hait material, still not rendering. I tried to adjust the width operator thats not updaing the hair material.
For some reason unless Im missing a step no hair is rendering?

In the next build 0.0.6.18057 it says this issue is fixed however in both r19 and r20 hair still wont render.

Hi.
Yes ny bad, curves from strands wasnt in the the stack by default for some reason, so It wont render without that.
Thanks, Dan | |

Hello to all Jeordanis, i'm nothing special, it's colorize of c4d hair(silly example in attachment). I understood why Ephere move to poly-hair - if you have not non studio license, you have not hair. And use curves-splines with 3rd party renderer(if it supports them)

@ilay7k are you saying that t was by choice Ephere has stopped hair rendering and opted for polygon rendering? If this is the case I assume only while beta testing. While its a nice option to have this dont realy make it a ideal solution to hair due to slower viewport performance and memory usage for poly hair, plus dedicated 3rd part render shaders will always look way better. I Hope that although Vray is in Chaos Groups hands that when/if the hair material is working with Vray that older versions of vray will also work as Im stuck on a vray perpetual licence now, Im not going to rent it.

@Rectro. Dan, it was my thought what can be scenario if targeted at bundle-based market

@Dan, while porting the operators to modifiers we stumbled into a C4D limitation that broke hair rendering. we decided to keep only mesh hair to complete the port asap. Maxon opened a bug report on that limitation, we hope they can fix it soon. But good news is that we managed to implement a workaround, already available in v0.0.6. Just to clarify: You need to manually add Curves From Strands (spline hair) or Mesh From Stronds (polygn hair) to actually render. |
