Bad performance when editing big amount of hairs

When I specify a large Render Count value in the Furball parameters, it becomes impossible to edit the model. The interface becomes slow and unresponsive. If I just rotate the model in the viewport, I have about 150 fps. But when I start editing the guides, the performance drops dramatically. Is this a problem with my configuration or the software?

Hi,

This is expected when editing dense hair. The higher the hair density and hair details, the more procesing power you will need.

For that, we implemented different levels of details in the Viewport VS the Render. Use a low hair count in the viewport while keeping a high density on the render. Decrease the Viewport Count Fraction parameter in Hair from Guides

Thanks for the answer, Jeordanis! I changed the display properties in Maya to OpenGL (it was DirectX) and now I have a better performance.\

What is important for Ornatrix? CPU or GPU? CPU with more cores or higher clock? How about RAM?
