Hardware Requirements 

Ornatrix heavily relies on your system's CPU, GPU, and RAM to model, simulate, and render millions of high-fidelity hair strands. For optimal performance, we recommend using a modern CPU (Intel or AMD) with a high core count and high clock frequencies, paired with at least 16 GB of RAM.

 

Windows 

• Windows 10 or newer
• Cinema 4D R25.010 or newer.
• VC 2019 runtime

 

Mac 

• OS X 10.14 Mojave or newer
• Cinema 4D R25.010 or newer.

 

Supported Cinema 4D builds 

Ornatrix is not guaranteed to work on all builds of Cinema 4D. We recommend using the versions for which Ornatrix is specifically built.

Recommended Cinema 4D Builds:
25.010, R26.014, 2023, 2024.2.

 

Known Issues and Limitations 

• Guide Width
  The Guide/Strand Width parameter in Edit Guides is currently not supported. This limitation arises from the fixed line width of 1.0f in Windows DirectX starting with Cinema 4D R26. However, this feature functions correctly with OpenGL on macOS.

• Apple Silicon
  As of the time of writing, Apple Silicon is not yet supported, but we are actively working on adding support.
